Brigadier General Abu Sayed Al Masud, BGBMS, PBGMS, ndc, psc
Brigadier General Abu Sayed Al Masud, BGBMS, PBGMS, ndc, psc was commissioned on 16 December 1993 with 29th Long Course from Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA). His home district is at Jashore . In his long illustrious career Brigadier General Masud has attended several professional courses both at home and abroad. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) and the National Defence College (NDC), Mirpur. He holds a Master’s degree in Defence Studies from National University and another master’s from Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on Social Science in Security and Development.
Brigadier General Abu Sayed Al Masud, BGBMS, PBGMS, ndc, psc took over Bangladesh National
Cadet Corps (BNCC) as Director General (DG) on 16 January 2025. To provide
a glimpse of his illustrious career, Brigadier General Masud served in
various capacities in different units including 17 East Bengal Regiment, NCO’s
Academy (NCOA), Special Security Force (SSF), 27 East Bengal Regiment, 29 (Bangladesh
Infantry Regiment) BIR, 1 East Bengal Regiment and 9 East Bengal Regiment. He also
served as Grade 1 Staff Officer of Infantry Director in Army Headquarters, HQ 24
Infantry Division, as Deputy Director General in Border Guard Bangladesh.
Before joining Bangladesh National Cadet Corps, he has served as Deputy
Commandant in Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Center (BIRC) and Commander, 101
Infantry Brigade in Cumilla Cantonment. He has also participated in
Operation Kuwait Punorgothon (OKP-7) and served under blue helmet with UNMIS in
Sudan.
